Feathered Drake

More practice with the smudged ink technique that I love!

My friend didn't believe me that chinese dragons often have manes of fur. This dragon, like so many others, is not yet finished... the floating hand in his mane is a boy who is petting him while he sleeps.

Inspired by "Out of the Silent Planet" -C.S.Lewis. I actually drew this guy years and years ago, so its pretty good for being so old! The colors are indicative of Perelandra (which is actually the planet Venus in C.S.Lewis's series. Read it! It'll rock your world.)

Its what comes just before action, just before knowledge, that moment during a leap of faith where we hang motionless in the air, not knowing if we will fall or fly. We all experience moments like this, and we must learn to accept it with grace or forever fight against the process.
